Message from Ms Walker

As we reach the end of another wonderful academic year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our entire school community for the support, kindness and commitment shown throughout the year. It has been a year filled with learning, achievement, friendship and memorable experiences, and I am incredibly proud of all that our children have accomplished. From exciting classroom learning and enrichment opportunities to sporting events, performances and community celebrations, there has been so much to celebrate. Thank you to our dedicated staff, supportive families and, most importantly, our fantastic children for making this such a successful and enjoyable year. We wish everyone a happy, restful summer break and look forward to welcoming you back in September.

A Message to Our Year 6 Leavers

As another school year comes to an end, we would like to wish our Year 6 children every success as they begin the next exciting chapter of their educational journey. They have been wonderful ambassadors for our school, and we are incredibly proud of all they have achieved during their time with us. While we will miss their enthusiasm, humour and contributions to school life, we know they are ready for the opportunities and challenges that secondary school will bring. We wish them all the very best for the future and hope they will always look back on their time at Launton with fond memories. ๐ŸŒŸ

A note from the NSPCC

Staffing

As we come to the end of another successful year, we once again say goodbye to Mrs Terry, Mrs Robbins and Mrs Poole. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, hard work and commitment they have shown during their time at Launton, and we thank them for the positive impact they have had on our school community. We would also like to remind parents that Mrs Tonya Way, who was successfully appointed as our new Assistant Headteacher and SENDCo, will begin her new role in September. Whilst some familiar faces move into new positions and others move on, we are delighted to welcome Mrs Rosalind Mason, an experienced Year 1/2 teacher, and Miss Alana Bull, who joins us as a Teaching Assistant. We look forward to them becoming part of the Launton team and wish them a very warm welcome.

Message from Madame Poole (French Teacher)

Thank you parents, carers and especially children for the lovely cards, messages and gifts I received on Tuesday. I have taught French at Launton for a number of years and it has been such a pleasure working with the children. Their enthusiasm and ability in class has been wonderful to see. It's always lovely for me to hear "Bonjour Madame Poole" when I'm out in town and I hope I'll hear that for a few years to come. I wish you all a lovely summer break and all the very best for the future. God bless you.

A Huge Thank You

A heartfelt thank you to Stephen, Jason and Arthur for giving up their time to help the PTA with the BBQ. We are incredibly grateful for their hard work, helping to keep everyone well fed and ensuring the event was such a success. Your support and willingness to help our school community is very much appreciated. Thank you! ๐ŸŒญ๐Ÿ”โ˜€๏ธ

Message from St Mary's Church

Message from the PTA

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the BBQ last week — together we raised over £1,000 (final figure TBC)! We’re incredibly grateful to the individuals and vendors who helped make the event such a success: Justin Bucknell Electrical, Boarstall Meats, Karts4U, Steve Shaw, Louise McDonald, and the Year 6 class, who generously donated the £189.30 raised on their stall.  It was a fantastic evening, with gourmet burgers and sausages, goโ€‘kart excitement, games to test your skills, and plenty of refreshments from the bar.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Charlotte Noakes, who is stepping down from the PTA this summer. Her commitment over the past two years has been hugely appreciated — from taking meeting notes to helping organise events and even writing these weekly messages (though not this one!).

Charlotte’s departure means we now have a vacancy for a Trustee of the Friends of Launton School Charity. If you’re interested in helping raise funds for the school, shaping the events we run, and joining a friendly team who enjoy what they do, please email us or speak to one of the current members.

And finally — don’t forget to drop by for ice lollies after school!

Your PTA trustees are:

Lucy Crawford (Yr 3)

Emma Austin (Yr 2 and 4)

Catherine Ravensward (Reception and Yr4)

Jill Bali (Yr 2 and 4)

Charlotte Noakes (Yr1 and 4)

Remember: Please be aware that we have children in school with serious food allergies. To ensure the safety of all of our children please avoid sending your child to school with anything that contains nuts this includes sandwiches containing peanut butter or chocolate spread.
