School Performance 2016

The new Curriculum was assessed for the first time last summer, and is significantly more challenging with much higher standards than in previous years. The children have worked extremely hard, and this is reflected in some excellent results. At the end of Key Stage (KS) 1 and KS2, children are assessed to deter mine whether they meet the new “Expected Standard” in each subject. The children in Reception are also assessed at the end of the year to see if they have achieved the Good Level of Development.

The data shows that Launton School is consistently performing better than the Oxfordshire average and the National average in individual subjects and the Department of Education has sent a specific letter to school congratulating them on being in the top 8% of schools Nationally for Phonics results.

Analysis of the data has informed our priorities for the forthcoming school year and is reflected in the School Development Plan (SDP) with focus on priorities such as increasing the percentage of children who are working at the expected standard in KS2 Mathematics , KS2 combined Reading, Writing and Mathematics, increasing the percentage of children achieving greater depth in reading, writing and mathematics and  extending the progress that children make from the end of KS1 to the end of KS2.

The primary school performance tables give information on school performance for pupils at the end of key stage 2 (KS2) or the national curriculum, showing how KS2 results compare with other schools in a local authority area and in England as a whole. They also provide information on pupil absence, school finance, school workforce and Ofsted Inspection results. Click on the link below to the Dfe Performance Tables.
